This is the first book in the Demons of Velarta Series. I had the pleasure of being a beta reader for this book and I loved the characters and the story. I love a friendly rivalry between best friends River and Theo. River gets a coveted spot on a prestigious dig in Velarta, but everything is about to change with the item she discovers. What happens next is she becomes closer to Lucas one of the specialists on the dig and it seems that her supervisor calls in her colleague and Theo tags along. Everything is not as it seems and soon things get hot and heavy and the most unlikely friends come together after years apart. It was spicy and I loved the historical aspects we found out about. I can’t wait to read the next book!
